2019 Costume Year in Review

While I did make several new 1790s dresses, 2019 was the year of altering existing costumes, whether it was to make them fit better or to just change them up to feel new. I would like to continue this trend in 2020, as well as to make a dent in my ever-growing stash.

  • Mid 1790s pleated Figured Silk Open Robe
  • 3 pairs of 1790s experimental stays (working muslins that are hideous but functional)
  • Late 1790s purple print gown
  • Late 1790s sheer cross front gown
  • Late 1790s carapace turban/hat
 
Alterations
  • Retrimmed black 1780s hat
  • Added Facing to Redingote hem
  • Shepherdess accessories for early 1790s blue stripe gown
  • Altered late 1790s green sarcenet gown – lowered waistline and added underarm gusset
  • Added Lining to silk banyan
  • Added trim to chocolate brocade francaise
 
Modern
  • SOI Vintage Shirt Dress – plum floral cotton lawn
  • McCalls 6696 Shirt Dress – navy floral cotton lawn
