Ugh. Has it really been two weeks since I posted anything? Honestly, I’m still in a rut and I haven’t had any desire to sew or do anything remotely productive. That being said, I’ve been slowing working on a pair of 18th century stays and I recently made myself a new skirt to wear once the weather cools down.

Setting Goals

I’ve been decidedly unproductive since coming back from Costume College. You could say after all I made in the past year I’m allowed to take a break, but the truth is without any upcoming deadlines my inspiration is all over the place.  So I thought I would list out some things that I hope to accomplish in the next few months and that will hopefully keep me motivated.

One Last Summer Skirt

Before the unofficial end of summer, I wanted to share on more skirt I made in June. I have a penchant for whimsical critter prints. Unicorns, frogs, butterflies, and carousel horses have all made an appearance my closet, just to name a few. Now add to that crickets!

About My Fluffy Cap...

When I was preping for Costume College, I came to the realization that there was no way my riding habit hat would fit in my suitcase. I certainly didn't want to crush it and wearing it on the plane really isnt something I'm willing to do (for many reasons), so I stole was inspired by Jen Thompson's idea of making one of those fluffy cap/turban things you see so often in the late 18th century to wear with my habit. I went for a simple, undecorated look like these two portraits:

Costume College - Sunday

Sunday of Costume College I had no morning classes so I took the opportunity to sleep in and lounge around in my pjs for a while . I was exhausted from all the fun I had at the Gala the night before and the strain of travel was starting to catch up with me.
