More On My New Pink "Paste" Necklace

It's no secret that I have a weakness for jewelry. What girl doesn't? For years I've dreamt of  having a color paste necklace to wear with my 18th century outfits, but sadly all the antique or vintage ones I've found have been way out of my price range.

I'd almost given up hope, relegating my want to the "someday when I'm yacht-rich" place in my mind, when I saw  Anna Wintour style rhinestone necklaces for sale on Esty. With just a few tweaks, it would be perfect for 18th century! So I contacted the seller to see if they would be interested in making me a custom necklace.

Jennifer of SacredCake is not only incredibly nice and friendly, she was also more than willing to help me get my dream necklace. I sent her lots of pictures of extant necklaces and she worked with me to refine the design and add historically accurate details, like the jump rings at the back for a silk ribbon. I swear we exchanged 40 emails in the process. :) I went with pink (my favorite color), but she had tons of other colors of stones to choose from.

When it came in the mail I couldn't have been more thrilled with the necklace and it got tons of compliments at Costume College. I can't wait to wear it again! I even have plans to commission a pair of matching bracelets from her. Pretty soon I will have my very own parure!
